ARTICLE IX-STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

We believe that God is Creator of the natural world and an ordered cosmos and affirm both classical Natural Law and Divine Law as guiding our fundamental beliefs of right and wrong.

We affirm all historically orthodox Catholic beliefs and doctrines pertaining to, but not limited to, marriage, divorce, contraception, abortion, euthanasia, sexual activity, and all other social, familial, ethical and spiritual matters. We look to both Sacred Scripture and Church Tradition in answering any questions that may arise pertaining to such matters.

More specifically, use of our facility must not conflict with the following Catholic doctrine:

Marriage is between a man and a woman. Holy Scripture affirms that man and woman were created for one another. [1]

Homosexuality is contrary to the natural law.[2]

Everyone, man and woman, should acknowledge and accept his sexual identity. Physical, moral, and spiritual difference and complementarity are oriented toward the goods of marriage and the flourishing of family life.

Abortion is gravely contrary to the moral law.[3]  Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person – among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.[4]
